What Ales You

What Ales You, evilrockhopper’s very own beer rating and review site, was crying out for an iPhone app. So we wrote one.

Now you can add, rate, review and photograph your favourite beers while out and about. Not only that but you can also use the interactive beer map to see where other people have found a particular beer to drink. And if you’re wondering about trying a new beer, you can browse all the beers from the site and see what others have said about it.

Commisioned by the ad agency Exposure, we were required to build an iPhone application for the anti-virus company Symantec.

With an unmoveable and very tight deadline, the app was developed and delivered on time. It allows users to check on the latest state of computer security threats and find out information about the InfoSec security show.

It uses a multitude of iPhone technologies including augmented reality; dynamic updateable CMS content; zoomable interactive custom maps; Google maps and in-app videos.

Graffed is a site that lets you track your body shape instead of just your weight. You can see in real time your silhouette overlaid with your target body, showing you where you’ve lost weight and shaped up. It was a long hard slog to write but I’ve been very impressed with the Flex technology (Flash for programmers if you will) and it’s taught me a lot. For a limited time, premium accounts are totally free so sign up and give it a go
